Meet Our Staff...

Eastern Appalachian

Teen Challenge

staff are members of the American Association of Christian Counselors and are trained to biblically disciple students into a new way of life.  All staff are also CPR and First Aid trained in the event emergencies might occur.

Harley Cox, Executive Director, is no stranger to Teen Challenge.  He graduated from our Training Center in Athens, WV Teen Challenge center over sixteen years ago and has worked with Teen Challenge ever since.  He earned his bachelor's degree in Pastoral Counseling and founded Eastern Appalachian Teen Challenge in 1998 desiring to help young people who were once like himself. As an ordained minister he has counseled with troubled teens, adults and their families for over eleven years. Harley and his wife Lisa have been married for fourteen years, have two children, and are both veterans of the United States military.

Lisa Cox, Program and Education Director for the Eastern Appalachian Teen Challenge Training Center for Adolescent Girls, has a Virginia state teaching license, and has worked with at risk children and their families in the inner city school setting for ten years.  As a certified lay counselor with the American Association of Christian Counselors and a minsterial candidate, Lisa also oversees all of the Teen Challenge biblical studies curriculum and personal studies for each student specific to their individual needs.
